Belinda’s catwalk fall, with Anitta’s quick support, teaches us the power of embracing our stumbles, lifting each other up, and handling life’s challenges with grace, resilience, and sisterhood.
Belinda and Anitta are showing us why Latinas need to support one another. After the Spanish-Mexican pop star’s runway fall at L’Oréal Paris, the Brazilian singer went out of her way to help her up, demonstrating the importance of lifting each other up and “fixing each other’s crowns.”
As humans, we’re bound to encounter mishaps—just like Belinda during L’Oréal Paris’ annual fashion show this week (September 23). The pop star looked stunning in an all-red outfit paired with boot-like heels, which, unfortunately, caused her to trip and fall. Luckily, Anitta, who was just ahead of her during the fashion walk, noticed the incident. Without hesitation, Anitta helped Belinda to her feet, adjusted her boot heels, and applauded her as she regained her composure.
While this may seem like common courtesy, let’s be honest—not everyone would do the same.
That’s why it’s important to reflect on what we can learn from Belinda’s fall and why we should always be there to support our fellow Latinas.
Nobody’s Perfect—Mistakes Happen
Belinda has been in the public eye for decades. Despite her experience with high-profile modeling and fashion walks, she’s only human. Mistakes happen!
Instead of dwelling on the fall, Belinda kept a positive attitude and completed her walk. Of course, getting help from Anitta was a bonus, but she remained professional, even blowing a kiss to the camera as she continued down the runway.
So, why should we dwell on minor mishaps in our lives? Let’s take a page from Belinda’s book and dust ourselves off instead of overthinking our mistakes.
“No matter how many times you fall down, the important thing is how you get up. Thank you, @anitta ????,” the “300 Noches” singer wrote in Spanish after the incident.
Helping Out Your Colleagues Will Never Dim Your Light
Anitta and Belinda are both superstars. They don’t need to compete to shine. This fall was another prime example of that.
By taking the time to help Belinda up, Anitta proved that spreading kindness never dims your light. If anything, it showed what a humble and caring person she is.
We should all follow her lead and help other Latinas whenever possible. At the end of the day, it’s never going to take away from our own success.
It might sound cliché, but it’s true: “What’s meant to be yours will always find its way.”
Sometimes, You Just Have to Laugh It Off
After her very public fall, Belinda took it all in stride. She even compared her experience to the iconic Sex and the City episode, in which Carrie Bradshaw falls on the catwalk.
The artist blended her fall with Carrie’s in a video, captioning it in Spanish: “The most iconic moment of my life, even though I never imagined it would be like this ????????.”
If Belinda can laugh off a public mistake, so can we.
