PepsiCo has acquired Siete, the vibrant Mexican-American brand co-founded by Latinas, for a remarkable $1.2 billion. Join us as we explore their inspiring journey and the impact this partnership will have.
Mexican-American brand Siete (Siete Family Foods) is elevating its reach. Earlier this week (October 1), PepsiCo revealed that it acquired Siete Foods for $1.2 billion – a massive win for the Latino community.
In a nutshell, Siete was created in 2014 by all seven members of the Garza family. Their mission is to “inspire inclusivity around the table by sharing delicious, heritage-inspired Mexican-American foods for a variety of dietary needs and preferences.” Siete is known for its products, such as almond flour tortillas, grain-free tortilla chips, and grain-free taco shells.
“Siete was created ten years ago to make heritage-inspired, Mexican-American food more widely available. Now, we’re excited to embrace a new era with PepsiCo and bring our inclusive, better-for-you products to more people,” said Miguel Garza, CEO and Co-Founder of Siete Foods, in a press statement. “We hope this next chapter for Siete serves as inspiration for other Latino businesses, showing that it’s possible to build a thriving brand that honors our heritage and celebrates our culture.”
The Austin-based food brand was co-founded by Miguel’s older sister, Veronica Garza, who also serves as the company’s President and Chief Innovation Officer. She came up with the company’s concept after facing “major health challenges” that prompted her to change her diet. What started as her making grain-free tortillas for herself and her family became the company’s first hit. Now, their products can be found in nationwide supermarket chains and retailers like Vons, Ralphs, and Target.
In April, Veronica met with Mexican-American actress and film producer Eva Longoria to expand the brand. Longoria joined the team as an investor and strategic advisor. At the time, Longoria told Forbes that the goal was “to build a billion-dollar food empire that celebrates our culture and Mexican-Americans make that with a desire to make Mexican-American foods more available.”
Now, with PepsiCo on board, it looks like that goal just became more attainable.

We look forward to expanding our multicultural portfolio with these incredible products and introducing Siete to even more consumers.”
