Latinas go through it all – including hard breakups. Going through a breakup? You’re not alone. Here’s how superstars like Cazzu, Nicki Nicole, and Shakira are healing and showing incredible resilience after their relationship fallouts.
Latinas endure everything, from complicated family situations to caring for the whole household and even getting over tough breakups. There’s no time for us to slow down in a fast-paced environment. More often than not, we are doing it by ourselves and for ourselves.
Some high-profile Latinas actively healing from breakups include superstars like Cazzu, Nicki Nicole, and Shakira. These three hitmakers have faced their struggles in the public eye over the past year or so. But if there’s one thing about Latinas, it’s that we get through anything – even when the odds are against us.
From new tattoos to new hairdos, here’s how Cazzu, Nicki Nicole, and Shakira are healing and showing incredible resilience after a breakup.
Cazzu
It’s no secret that Argentine rapper Cazzu is keeping it lowkey online. After her ex-boyfriend Christian Nodal and Ángela Aguilar went public with their relationship, she said she would put her daughter first. However, thanks to the Internet, we know she’s embracing self-love with a new tattoo. Social media users are calling her a “phoenix” since the tattoo looks like wings on her back.
Another act of self-love is that she recently reshaped her eyebrows and lifted her eyelashes. Social media users are excited, calling her a “self-care queen.”
Nicki Nicole
After her breakup with Peso Pluma, Argentine rapper Nicki Nicole is healing in her own way. Based on her Instagram posts, she appears to be embracing a new fiery red hair look and returning to her signature urban style with oversized outfits and bandanas.

And she isn’t the only one who goes through this. Many Latinas tend to change their hair after a breakup. Clinical psychologist Dr. Jaime Zuckerman agrees it represents a “rebirth of sorts.” Zuckerman concurs that after people “lose control” during a breakup, they often search for something they can take control over.
“Hair is something that is within our direct control, something we have direct access to, something that results in a relatively immediate outcome,” Zuckerman explained.
So, if you’re dyeing your hair a new color post-breakup, you’re not alone!
Shakira
Another way Latinas heal is by going into full-on work mode. Colombian star Shakira did this recently, pouring her feelings into her work after her public divorce from Gerard Piqué.
She hasn’t slowed down since. After releasing post-breakup mega-hits like “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with Argentine producer Bizarrap and “TQG” with Karol G, Shakira is making more history. She’s become the first artist to headline the Copa América Final’s inaugural halftime show. And that’s all before her highly-anticipated upcoming “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour,” starting on November 2.
How’s that for showing resilience?
